Washington Post App revisa

Super app!

Tout y est

Useful

Useful app.

April 4 2025

As a subscriber of different sources of information, I find your publication provocative, thoughtful, objective and mind boggling considering the actual national and international circumstances. Tough times ahead…

Quality investigating

Fact checking and quality writing sets the Washington Post apart from other news sources. I would like to read more balanced reporting through the spectrum of news. For instance the shaking up on capital hill is past due, report on the redundant departments and the positive effects which are needed though unpleasant.

My thoughts

VERY disillusioned the WP capitulated to the likes of Trump. Shame on you for your lack of courage when we need you the most. You MUST DO BETTER. We the people need you. Patricia Eddington

The Washington Post sold its soul for profit

The only reason I still subscribe is because I’m only paying a couple of dollars per month. I tried to unsubscribe and the Post lowered the cost to almost nothing.

A Fallen Favorite

Where is Katherine Graham when we need her? Bezos has turned the once proud Washington Post, a factual, investigative newspaper into a censored shadow of its former self. It’s so sad.

Need to change the name

This is no longer the Washington Post. They should call that Bezos‘s rag. It’s not even a newspaper anymore. It’s a function of Maga.

National news paper need money for giving 1 story about Tarriff

This is worst than trade war

Why am I seeing ads

I have a paid subscription and yet i am seeing adds. Is this like amazon prime?

WaPo Shifting Right

The old Washington Post, which never shied away from calling balls and strikes in Washington, is slowly disappearing. Bezos commitment to truth is waning as his financial and romantic interests pull him in other directions. Hiring a Murdoch soldier/senior editor, who (as expected) promptly shifted editorial content and news coverage to the right, signaled the beginning of the end for one of the most respected papers globally. It may take a little time but I ultimately expect a WSJ clone with DC emphasis. So much for the “democracy dies in darkness” tagline. It becomes as ironic as “fair and balanced” Faux News.

Turn off pop-ups!

PLEASE allow us to turn off the pop-up screens suggesting more articles. They obscure what I’m reading and I find them insulting. I can find what I want to read, thanks.

Bug Report

Current version does not open links from outside app or notifications. Only opens main page of app.

Buy the paper

Be “Old School” like me. Read the paper online, listen to The Seven, but read the printed paper too. It’s a whole different and more enriching experience. You’ll be surprised how much you miss just scanning the headlines. Democracy dies in darkness. If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. Too bad Bezos caved to the right. The OpEd page took a nosedive to the dark side.

Can’t trust Wapo anymore

I canceled my subscription to the Post because Bezos bent the knee to Trump and compromised the newspaper’s independence. Sad and maddening.

Major glitch in commenting and pop-up promos are major irritation.

The comment box is small. If one drags down on the screen to return to the top of their comment, the display refreshes and 1️⃣ the app TRASHES THE ENTIRE COMMENT YOU'VE BEEN WORKING ON! Ridiculous. Come on developers — FIX THIS! 2️⃣ Even better, follow the lead of the NYT app — it preserves your comment even when you deliberately return to the article to check on its text or grab a quote! 3️⃣ Drop the pop-up promos ENTIRELY! They show up while reading an article and disrupt the experience. 4️⃣ The developers told someone else about a hidden trick to turn them off for 30 days. First, the setting shouldn't be hidden. Second, the promos shouldn't be there at all. We know how to find other articles. Third, you're already losing subscribers in droves — all this does is drive away more of us!

Stop the popups!

I love my Washington Post. I hate the new feature of little reminders that keep popping up at the bottom of my screen, suggesting other article articles I could read. No thank you. Either I’ve already read them or I’m not interested. I’m reading on a 6 inch screen and you’re taking up valuable reading space. Please trust that as an intelligent reader, I will find my way to those articles when and if I’m interested.

Better than I thought with Bezos and Trump

.I used to like and respect WP when Telnaes was still a cartoonist. After Trump leaned on Bezos, I thought WP would be dead in the water. I am surprised that the Editorials are still critical of Trump and his menagerie. Thanks from me and Katherine Graham, RIP.

So Disappointed

My admiration continued to grow as the Post broke Watergate and showed the world what independent journalism really looks like. Now, with its new editorial policies, the Post has shown the world what it looks like to capitulate to an authoritarian ruler. I am about to cancel my subscription in favor of the Atlantic, which has shown courage the Post no longer has. "Democracy dies in Darkness" indeed!lly looks like. Not a terrible news source

The news itself is done pretty well, and we enjoy some of the columnists, especially Petri and Milbank. However, they have really messed up the comments section. Perhaps they should hire some teenagers to fix what the adults have screwed up.

Once again lies and distortion

Betar is not an extremist group in Israel . Menacham begin came from betar they are zionists , support capitalism as opposed to socialism and believe Jews control their own destiny defensively and offensively . Followers of the great leader jabotoninsky . You stated they are extremists while the savages Hamas are militants . You need to live in Gaza

New format is nice.

I like the new format. It’s easier to browse the sections and I don’t have to squint at teeny-tiny print.

Stop the pop up surveys

Now

For You popups

With the latest version of the app comes an annoying popup called “for you.” You can click on 3 dots to suspend it for 30 days. I can pick my own articles.

I second the motion to turn off the irritating popups!

Pop ups are annoying. The top navigation bar takes up too much space. Go back to small bottom icons!!!!

Dying in the darkness of its owner

No longer a trusted source as democracy dies in front of us.

Worse by the day

I’ve read WAPO all my adult life (I’m mid-60s) and had been a staunch supporter even after moving out of the area thru my online subscription. It’s capitulation to not endorsing a candidate in the last election, subsequent resignations, and choices on the customer comments sections are disappointing and poorly conceived. Additionally, the sports coverage has not been good, in fact, it’s bad. Columnists like Jenkins & Blackistone are excellent, best in class, with Bruckner mostly good, but the rest not good to lazy. The beat coverage is woefully inadequate and not even worth the read for its lack of volume. How hard to post a daily column on the NATS while in Spring Training? There’s a game or two almost daily and 60 players in camp?? The sports section is getting really close to just being a wire service level sports section. Do not take my subscription for granted. I’ll cut dead weight loose.

No longer my #1 newspaper

I’ve read the WP since I could read, and trusted they had an independent editorial staff and the most excellent reporting. I’m very disappointed the owner has muzzled his staff and is destroying their credibility as independent journalists.

iPad UX is gross

Why does the UX on iPad look so bad? Huge left/right padding around the content on the Home Screen. Ugly compared to the New York Times iPad app. The design just does not feel sleek and I really don’t look forward to opening it. The content is all out of scale, it sort of feels like the iPhone app has just been magnified to fit the iPad. It really needs to be optimized for the iPad screen real estate.

Forced to watch advertisements?

I pay good money for a subscription to the Washington Post and yet they expect me to sit and watch one of their video advertisements for this or that product? Are they freaking kidding? They don’t have respect for their subscribers.

Too Close to Trump

Much about the Post is great actually. The problem is with management, which has quashed the journalistic integrity of its editorial board. And its owner Jeff Bezos is way too compliant with Trump!

Pillar of Democracy

An informed citizenry would give us a robust democracy. We need less fake news and more first-rate journalism. Keep up the fine work, Washington Post, and keep up the print version. Quality reporting and analysis takes courage, especially now. Thank you for going after the important stories and providing insightful analysis.

Don’t update the app!

One of my favorite features of this app was I could see the physical paper as one of the options. I saw a lot more stories this way. With the app update, this is apparently gone ?!? Without warning?!!? 😥

Great paper

Great journalists. Excellent writing.

No search function

How can a news publication not have a search function to look for articles on topics?

Irritating distraction pop up

Generally a good app but the constant pop up suggesting next article is super annoying. I hate that constant distraction and there’s no way to turn it off. I’ve canceled my subscription due to Bezos’ editorial interference but this pop up will apparently continue to annoy me until the subscription ends.

Trump the Disrupter

This is a dangerous time for our Democracy and the rule of law. I count on the Washington Post to give me honest information so I can react if needed! Thank you! Thanks to lawyers, judges and the free press, we will survive Trump and elect a sane President next time. I have never voted for Trump and never will. I keep up with current politics and I knew from his first term he was incompetent!! Linda St. Clair

WaPo I ain’t what it used to be.

The paper is the independent source of news that it once was. I’ll be dropping my subscription as soon as I do my research and find a better source.

Fine paper until its billionaire owner destroyed it

See title. Mr Bezos’ editorial interference destroyed all the credibility he had given this fine paper by letting it alone for decades. Shame, shame on you Mr. Bezos. If our President becomes a dictator you must share the blame.

WAPO sells out to fascism

The paper is a pathetic excuse for journalism.

Turn off irritating popups

Recently there appears an irritating little pop up at the bottom of the screen when I’m reading an article, suggesting another and usually totally unrelated article. The popup obscures the bottom of the text I’m reading. Often when I try to X close the popup instead my clumsy fingers take me to the suggested article and I have to navigate my way back to what I was reading which totally destroys the flow. There doesn’t appear to be any way in Settings to turn off the popups. Please fix.

Editorials

The editorials have become increasingly timid and at times have the cowardly odor of excusing Trump and his stunningly unqualified cabinet. These are the times when our grandchildren will remember the courageous.

This is not Amazon!

PLEASE do not flash pop-ups of articles your are suggesting for me to read! If I want to, I will get there. Or, in some cases, I have already been there! Please beef up the UI on local stories. For some reason, they do not seem to be updated as often as they used to be. We need fresh, local news every day! Jeff, you KNOW that small, local papers are failing!

Todays news stories

Grateful I can hear News verbally online when driving !!!

Washington Post

Love the reporting

Honest Reporting

My husband and I have always loved and respected the Washington Post because of the integrity of all the newspaper owners, staff and reporters for over 30 years.❤️ Pj &Stan Maybruck

Is WP Biased?

No longer trust the reporting on WP. I’ve canceled my subscription.

Too much recycling of articles

2nd Update - reporting still spotty. Bezos’s editorial interventions are unconscionable. Not renewing. 1st update Previous review still true.search still dysfunctional - so bad even the columnists admit it. No way to see what I have read already - articles get recycled for days, with same clickbait titles. That leaves me having to flip through the print version :( And please teach your journalists that their opinions belong *only* on that page - too many judgments and bias in every article. Please stick with the facts. And the search function is dysfunctional. If someone asks did you see the Post article on X? You can’t search on X and find it. You have to ask that person what day did you read that and then find it in the online-print version. And the reporting? Getting worse! Faiz Siddiqui’s writing on EVs is so incorrect and biased I wonder who’s paying him. And the language on so many articles is so unnecessarily biased left that anyone centrist or right mistrusts the reporting. Leave the opinions on the opinion page, or in quotes of the people you are interviewing.

Hitler and his clones

Bezos is a bozo, but he’s so cute, you know? So what if he prefers fascism and censorship, he’s adorable.

WAPO - Horrible app on the iphone

Horrible app on the iphone! Crashes every time I begin to scroll thru a story and goes to a black screen. I’ve reached out multiple times to them with no resolution. I am going to cancel my subscription since I cannot access their content.

Sections/Segments

I do wish you would more clearly place articles into sections (National, International, Sports, etc.) so that I can quickly find them and read what I want to or need to read.
