My hometown news looks dull

Come on! Washington DC is the most interesting city in the world, leading the most challenging issues and these days also one of the most vibrant, relevant and (gulp!) hip places on the planet( there I said it).
And the app makes all this--- issues, people, places---all look tired and washed out. Im not a graphic designer so I cant say exactly whats wrong or what it needs, I just know the WP can do better. Take you great content and DO something with it!
